Meet Dr. Sheri Erwin
Helping women understand their bodies so they can feel better today and build healthier decades ahead.
I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice, board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and founder of Root and Remedy Integrative Care. I believe women deserve more than rushed appointments, one-size-fits-all recommendations, and healthcare that treats symptoms without understanding the whole picture.
Healthspan is about more than adding years to your life. It is about adding life to your years. My goal is to help you feel your best today while protecting your health for the decades ahead.
Why I created Root and Remedy
I built the practice I wished more women had access to.
During more than 30 years in healthcare and over 17 years as a nurse practitioner, I saw the same pattern over and over. Women knew something had changed. They had fatigue, brain fog, weight changes, sleep problems, hormonal shifts. Sometimes their labs were normal. Sometimes they already had diagnoses. But almost no one had taken the time to connect the dots and explain what all of it meant together.
As a nurse practitioner, I knew how to read labs. I knew what questions to ask. Yet when my own health began to change, I found myself searching for answers too.
I started waking at 3 am, gaining weight without explanation, and dragging through my days despite a full night of sleep. My own labs came back normal.
I was dismissed. Gently. Professionally. But dismissed.
What changed everything was an integrative approach that runs appropriate labs, asks different questions, and examines patterns that are not always apparent through standard screening alone. What I found was not dramatic. It was not a disease. It was a pattern of subtle dysregulation that, when properly supported, changed everything about how I felt.
Root and Remedy is not just the practice I created. It is the kind of care I wish I had when I was searching for answers myself.
I built Root and Remedy Integrative Care so other women would not have to wait as long as I did.

Primary care, oncology and hematology, urgent care, geriatrics, women's health, university health, and telehealth integrative medicine. My philosophy
What I believe about healthcare
Women deserve enough time to be fully heard, not just briefly seen.
Understanding your own body is one of the most powerful tools for improving your health.
Prevention matters. You should not have to wait for disease to develop before receiving personalized care.
Normal on a lab report and optimal for your healthspan are not the same thing.
The best healthcare does not just tell women what to do. It helps them understand why their bodies are changing so they can make confident decisions for the decades ahead.
Healthspan is not just about living longer. It is about living better in the decades ahead.
What you can expect
My five promises to every patient
I will listen. Not just to what brought you to see me. To your full story, your history, your goals, and what matters most to you.
I will walk you through your labs. So you understand not just whether a value is normal or abnormal, but what it means for how you feel now and the decades ahead.
I will teach you. Because when you understand what is happening and why, you can make better decisions with confidence.
I will personalize your care. Your plan will be built around your labs, your symptoms, your history, and your real life. Not a protocol.
I will help you make confident decisions. About your health today and the decades ahead.
My philosophy of care
Connecting the dots, not chasing symptoms.
Most women do not come to me because they are looking for integrative medicine. They come because they are looking for answers.
Traditional medicine is excellent at diagnosing and treating disease. Integrative medicine asks a different question: why is this happening?
Your body does not work in isolated parts. Your hormones influence your sleep. Your sleep affects your energy. Your stress affects your metabolism. Your nutrition influences all of them. When something feels off, it is rarely just one thing.
My job is to step back, look at the whole picture, and connect those pieces so we can understand what is really driving how you feel. That does not mean ignoring conventional medicine. It means building on it. My training as a nurse practitioner taught me how to diagnose disease and manage illness. My training in integrative medicine taught me how to recognize patterns before they become disease, and how to support the body so it functions more optimally.
My job is to recognize the patterns that explain how your body's systems are interacting, and then connect those dots into a plan that makes sense.
Who I work with
You have tried everything and still do not have answers. Something has shifted and no one has been able to explain why.
You have been told your labs are normal, but you clearly do not feel normal.
You have a diagnosis, but you still do not fully understand why you feel the way you do.
You feel well today and want to stay that way for decades to come.
Wherever you are, my goal is the same: to understand your body's unique patterns, help you make sense of what is happening, and create a personalized plan that supports both how you feel today and where you want your health to be tomorrow.

When I am not caring for patients
You will usually find me cooking or baking, out on my bike or hiking a Colorado trail, camping somewhere without cell service, or planning the next adventure with my husband, whether that means a national park or an international destination we have not been to yet.
Curiosity has always been one of my greatest strengths. Whether I am reading the latest research, recording a podcast episode, or exploring the outdoors, I am always looking for ways to learn, grow, and help others do the same. I believe that kind of curiosity makes me a better clinician and a more honest teacher.
